DESCRIPTION
This group comprises three distinct vessels decorated in the vibrant iron-red palette characteristic of the late Qing period.
1. Begonia-shaped Basin: The basin features an elegant lobed rim in the form of a begonia flower, supported on a high foot decorated with a blue enamel key-fret band. The exterior is densely painted with a formal scrolling lotus design (chanzhi lian).
2. Small Dish: The interior of the dish is decorated with clusters of fruiting and flowering pomegranate branches, a traditional symbol of fertility and numerous progeny. The rim is bordered by a stylized bat and cloud motif.
3. Flared Cup: The cup is decorated with alternating “Shou” (Longevity) characters and pomegranate motifs, echoing the themes of the other pieces in the group.
此组器物由三件清晚期经典的矾红彩瓷组成：
1. 海棠式洗： 造型呈四瓣海棠花形，线条流畅。外壁满绘矾红缠枝莲纹，画工繁缛。高足处饰以一周蓝料彩回纹。
2. 小盘： 盘心绘折枝石榴纹，果实饱满，寓意“多子多福”。口沿处饰有一周变体云蝙纹。
3. 折沿杯： 杯身饰有矾红“寿”字及石榴纹，与整组器物长寿多子的吉祥主题相呼应。
CATALOGUE NOTE
Iron-red enamel (fanhong) was highly favored during the late 19th century for its auspicious associations and decorative brightness. The themes present in this group—lotus scrolls representing purity, and pomegranates representing abundance—were quintessential to the domestic tastes of the time. The begonia-shaped basin, in particular, with its combination of iron-red and blue enamel, reflects the eclectic and colorful style typical of late Qing celebratory wares.
矾红彩瓷在十九世纪中后期深受青睐，其色彩热烈喜庆，多用于制作具有强烈吉祥寓意的器物。 此组器物集缠枝莲、石榴与寿字纹于一体，是晚清时期典型的民俗文化与艺术结合的产物。
CONDITION REPORT
• Condition: Overall in fair to good condition. There are visible chips to the rims of both the begonia-shaped basin and the small dish. General surface wear and rubbing to the iron-red enamels and gilt edges consistent with age.
• 整体品相： 整体品相尚可。海棠式洗及小盘的边缘均见明显磕碰伤。 此外，可见与年代相符的自然表面磨损，矾红彩及描金口沿有局部脱落。
