The soup tureen is of a substantial rectangular form, sturdily potted with deep sides, a broad flanged rim, and supported by four elegantly molded ruyi-shaped feet. The sides are flanked by two symmetrically sculpted animal-mask handles, rendered with impressive sculptural detail. The original domed cover is surmounted by a realistic floral-form finial. The porcelain is covered in a lustrous, slightly bluish-white glaze characteristic of high-quality export wares of the mid-18th century. The decoration features lobed medallions (cartouches) on the body and cover, exquisitely painted in a rich famille-rose palette with blossoming peonies and chrysanthemums. The floral sprays are executed with delicate tonal gradations, creating a sense of depth and lifelike vitality. The borders, rim, and feet are further embellished with intricate geometric patterns, scrolling foliage, and refined gilt accents.
此器呈长方形，深腹、折沿，底部承四只如意云头足，造型端庄沉稳。配原盖，盖顶设写实花实形钮，两侧装饰精美的兽首衔环耳，工艺复杂精湛。胎质坚实细腻，釉面呈现乾隆时期外销瓷典型的浅青白色调。器身与盖面均采用开光技法，内以粉彩精绘牡丹、菊花等折枝花卉，设色丰富且富于层次感。开光外围、口沿及足部辅以几何纹及卷草纹描金边饰，极尽华丽繁缛之美。
This tureen is a prime example of Chinese Export Porcelain commissioned for the European market during the Qianlong reign (1736-1795). During this period, the blending of traditional Chinese ceramic techniques with Western utilitarian forms—such as the soup tureen—reached its artistic peak. The use of the famille-rose palette allowed for the meticulous depiction of botanical themes that were highly prized in European noble households. The combination of the archaic Chinese ruyi feet and animal-head handles with a Western-style table service form illustrates the vibrant cultural exchange along the maritime Silk Road.
此件汤盆是乾隆时期典型的外销瓷精品。十八世纪，此类结合了欧洲生活方式与中国顶尖粉彩工艺的器物，成为了西方贵族餐桌上的奢侈品。其造型融合了中国传统的如意纹与兽首设计，而构图与花卉画法则迎合了欧洲市场对“东方情调”的审美需求。粉彩发色艳丽而不失柔美，开光布局疏朗，具有极强的装饰效果，是研究中西文化交流与瓷器贸易史的重要实物资料。
CONDITION REPORT
• Condition: In overall good condition for its age and size. The famille-rose enamels and gilding are well-preserved. The floral-shaped finial on the cover has sustained some damage/loss. There is minor, age-appropriate wear to the gilding and edges. No major cracks to the main body.
• 状况： 考虑到器型尺寸与年代，整体品相良好。粉彩发色及描金保存较好。盖顶花卉形抓钮见明显伤损/缺失。 边缘及描金处见时代特征之轻微自然磨损。器身主体经检测无重大裂纹，保存状况尚可。
