Description
This rare and ancient jade disc, or bi, is attributed to the Hongshan Culture of Northeast China. The piece is characterized by its distinctive “D-shaped” or slightly irregular ovoid perimeter and a centrally drilled aperture, typical of the primitive lapidary techniques of the Neolithic period. The jade is of a pale celadon-white tone, now heavily altered by millenniums of burial, resulting in significant “chicken-bone” white calcification and dark russet iron-oxide inclusions.
The disc exhibits an uneven, slightly tapered thickness which thins toward the edges—a hallmark of authentic Hongshan jade working where the surface was often hand-ground into a subtle, undulating profile. The smooth, soft luster of the exposed jade contrasts with the textured areas of mineralization.

CONDITION REPORT
The jade disc is in overall stable condition consistent with its Neolithic origin. Significant surface alteration, including calcification, pitting, and natural erosion from long-term burial, is present throughout. Minor nicks are visible along the perimeter, and traces of earth encrustation remain in the recesses. No modern repairs or structural fractures were observed.

此件珍罕的玉璧具有典型的中国东北红山文化特征。其外缘呈不规则的扁圆形或“D”字形，中心对钻孔，体现了新石器时代早期古朴的制玉工艺。玉质原为青白玉色，历经数千年的埋藏，表面已产生显著的“鸡骨白”钙化现象，并伴有深褐色的铁锈沁。
璧体厚薄不均，且向边缘处逐渐收薄，这正是红山玉器手工研磨而成的典型特征，形成一种微妙的起伏感。脱钙处露出的玉质温润，与受沁后的斑驳质感形成了鲜明的视觉对比。

品相报告
