DESCRIPTION
The pair of dishes is stoutly potted with deep rounded sides rising to a sophisticated foliate rim, often referred to as a “water chestnut” or “lozenge” mouth. The interior is vibrantly decorated in deep shades of cobalt blue, featuring a central medallion of intertwined scrolling flowers and foliage. The cavetto is further embellished with several ruyi-shaped cartouches containing floral motifs, set against a dense background of intricate floral scrolls. The exterior wall is painted with a continuous scrolling vine, while the area near the foot is encircled by a classic zigzag or “V” pattern band. The base is inscribed with an apocryphal six-character mark in underglaze blue within a double circle: Da Ming Wanli Nian Zhi (Made during the Wanli Reign of the Great Ming Dynasty).
此对大盘呈菱口（花口），浅弧腹，圈足，胎体沉稳。盘内以浓艳的青花装饰，盘心双圈内绘团花纹，花叶繁茂交织。内壁均匀分布数个如意纹开光，内绘花卉，开光之间辅以细密的缠枝花卉底纹。外壁绘一周简化的折枝花卉纹，近足处饰一周尖锐的“V”字形或锯齿形几何纹带。底足内青花书“大明万历年制”六字双行楷书寄托款，外围青花双圈。
CATALOGUE NOTE
The design and form of these dishes are a direct homage to the “Kraak” and foliate-rim porcelain of the Wanli period (1573-1620), which was highly prized in both domestic and international markets. During the Kangxi period, craftsmen at Jingdezhen excelled in reviving Ming styles, often producing pieces with superior clay refinement and a more controlled, multi-tonal cobalt blue application—often called “Ink-Divided-into-Five-Colors.”
The foliate rim and complex interior composition are hallmarks of this revivalist style. The robust potting and the characteristic “muslin” texture of the glaze on the base suggest these were produced for the refined taste of the early-to-mid Qing elite. Such pieces serve as a testament to the Qing dynasty’s deep reverence for and artistic reinterpretation of Ming dynasty ceramic heritage.
此类菱口盘的设计深受明万历时期开光风格（克拉克瓷风格）的影响，是晚明至清初非常流行的器形。康熙时期，景德镇瓷业进入高峰，窑工们大量仿制明代佳作，既是对前朝工艺的致敬，也展现了康熙朝**“墨分五彩”**的精湛青花技艺。

CONDITION REPORT
• Condition: In overall very good condition. Occasional minute frittering to the foliate rims and firing pinpricks to the base, consistent with pieces of this age and potting style. No major chips or cracks detected.
• 整体品相良好。 仅见菱口边缘有极细微的自然剥釉（缩釉点）及底足处的生产窑针，符合该年代及工艺特征。未见明显碎裂或大面积磨损。
