Description
This elegantly rendered rectangular porcelain plaque depicts the classic Buddhist motif of “Guanyin Crossing the Sea” (渡海观音). The Bodhisattva is portrayed with a serene expression, gracefully reclining upon a giant lotus petal as it glides across cresting waves. She is adorned in elaborate flowing robes of purple, vermilion, and black, meticulously detailed with floral patterns and gold accents. Beside her, the acolyte Shancai (Sudhana) is shown kneeling on a lotus leaf with hands clasped in prayer.
The upper right corner of the plaque bears the four-character inscription “渡海观音” (Guanyin Crossing the Sea) in regular script. A red seal mark, possibly identifying the artist or studio, is located in the lower left corner. The scene is set against a vast, ethereal background of finely penciled waves, characteristic of the refined porcelain painting styles of the Republic period. The plaque is mounted in a traditional dark wood frame.

CONDITION REPORT
The porcelain plaque is in overall good and stable condition. The enamels remain bright and vibrant with minimal wear to the polychrome surface. No cracks, chips, or professional restorations to the porcelain were observed upon visual inspection. The wooden frame shows minor surface abrasions and typical age-related drying consistent with its period.

描述
此件长方形瓷板绘以经典的佛教题材“渡海观音”。图中观音大士神态静穆端庄，端坐于一瓣巨大的莲花之上，在波涛汹涌的海面上平稳前行。其法相庄严，身着紫、朱、黑各色锦袍，衣褶流美，其上细绘花卉纹并点缀描金。侧旁绘善财童子足踏荷叶，合十礼拜。
瓷板右上角以楷书题“渡海观音”四字。左下角钤一红色艺匠或画室名方印。背景波浪线条勾勒细致，极具民国时期瓷画名家的艺术风格。瓷板原配深色木框。

瓷板整体品相良好，工艺稳固。粉彩发色鲜艳，釉面基本无磨损。常规检查下未见瓷板有裂缝、缺损或专业修补痕迹。木框见轻微表面划痕及与年代相符的自然收缩，保存状态良好。
