DESCRIPTION
The bowl is robustly potted with deep rounded sides rising to a slightly inverted rim, supported on a short, sturdy foot-ring. The interior and exterior are enveloped in a thick, lustrous sky-blue glaze of a subtle “moon-white” (yuebai) hue, suffused with a network of natural crackles. The interior is dramatically accented with a vibrant, amorphous copper-red splash of deep plum and violet tones, creating a striking contrast against the cool blue ground. The glaze stops neatly above the foot, revealing the dark, iron-brown biscuit body, a hallmark of its firing process.
此盌撇口，深腹，圈足，造型端庄厚重。通体施天蓝色釉，釉质肥厚莹润，色泽近“月白”，釉面满布自然的细碎开片。盌内壁饰有一抹浓艳的紫红斑，发色自然晕散，宛如晚霞，与天蓝底色相互交融，形成极佳的视觉对比。圈足处露胎，胎色呈深褐色（铁足），坚致厚重。整器釉色窑变自然，体现了钧瓷“入窑一色，出窑万彩”的独特艺术魅力。
EXPERT ANALYSIS
The combination of a sky-blue (tianlan) base with copper-red splashes is the most celebrated aesthetic of Jun-ware. The dark “chocolate” colored foot and the thick, viscous glaze that pools above the base are consistent with the stoneware traditions of the Henan kilns during the 14th century. The large diameter of nearly 20 cm makes this an impressive example, showcasing the unpredictable beauty of kiln-transformation (yaobian) that has been prized by collectors for centuries.
