The dish is finely potted with an open mouth, curved walls, and a sturdy circular foot, exhibiting a balanced and regular form. The porcelain body is of ideal weight and meticulously trimmed, covered in a thick, lustrous white glaze that displays a subtle, period-characteristic bluish tint. The decoration is masterfully rendered in vibrant underglaze blue. Centered within double-line circles is a powerful five-clawed dragon in a dynamic upright stance, chasing a flaming pearl amidst stylized ruyi clouds. The dragon is depicted with a prominent snout and protruding forehead, its sinuous body coiled with vigor and its sharp claws outstretched in a formidable display of imperial power. The exterior walls are further decorated with two additional dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls above a band of crashing sea waves. The base is inscribed with a six-character, two-line mark of Guangxu in regular script (kaishu).
此盘器形周正，呈敞口、弧壁、圈足之姿，比例极尽匀称。胎体轻重适宜，修胎工艺规整。通体施白釉，釉面肥润莹洁，釉色呈现典型的白中闪青，富有质感。盘心于双弦圈内以青花精绘一尊矫健的五爪立龙，昂首张爪，奋力追逐一颗火焰珠。龙纹刻画生动，高鼻突额，身躯盘曲有力，气势威猛，周身环绕如意云纹。盘外壁亦绘有对称的二龙戏珠纹，与内里呼应。底心书“大清光绪年制”六字楷书款。
The “Dragon Chasing a Flaming Pearl” motif is one of the most iconic and enduring symbols of imperial authority, representing the Emperor’s pursuit of wisdom and enlightenment. This 20th-century interpretation faithfully captures the spirit and technical precision of the late Qing dynasty imperial style. The use of the five-clawed dragon (wu-zhao long)—a symbol traditionally reserved for the Emperor—reflects the prestige of the vessel. Standing at 17.4 cm, the dish combines a well-structured composition with crisp cobalt-blue brushwork, making it a sophisticated representative of the continued mastery of the Jingdezhen kilns in reproducing the grandeur of the Guangxu period.
